Just finished my PhD in in neuroscience and back on the clinical wards. Managed to still keep my studies going. Couldn’t be happier. Always been interested in the brain and spine, but at first it was mostly infectious diseases work (better detection and prevention for polio and meningitis), since I was planning for a global health career. But during my final year in undergrad my grandfathers passed from Alzheimer’a and Parkinson’s. And to help others, in their memory, I shifted my research focus to two understudied diseases in the context of Africa and global health.[/argenta_sc_text]
