Description: As part of November Native American Heritage Month, the San Francisco Public Library is offering a month of programming, titled First Person: Honoring Native and Indigenous Cultures. Each event aims to highlight and honor an aspect of history and culture and a range of voices of indigenous and native peoples of the United States. The more than 80 events are open to the public, made for attendees of all ages, and will feature art, crafts, dance, education, film, history, literature, music, and ways of life. A notable offering is a docent-led tour of the old Mission Dolores section of San Francisco, re-envisioned as an opportunity for residents and visitors alike to learn of early contact between indigenous tribes and settlers of what would later be called California.
