State of Event
Emblematic figure of African-American dance, Alvin Ailey founded in 1958 one of the most fabulous companies in the world: Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater. Later, he decided to also establish a second company — Alvin Ailey Repertory Ensemble/Ailey II — consisting of emerging professional dancers. Powerful, skilled, talented, expressive and giving of themselves to the joy and trance of dance, the dancers have been widely lauded by American critics. The 2019 global tour makes a stop here in Lyon.
In France, they plan to present a program consisting of four pieces: « Where There Are Tongues », « The Hunt », « Road To One », and « Virtues ».
