CAIRO, EGYPT — Three years after a car bomb caused significant damage, the Museum of Islamic Art in Cairo has reopened, having been closed since 2104. Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi, Prime Minister Sherif Ismail, and Minister of Antiquities Khaled El-Enany inaugurated the renovated museum, in a ceremony attended by other top officials, with Minister El-Enany declaring that the reopening “embodies Egypt’s victory against terrorism, its capability and willingness to repair what terrorism has damaged, and to stand against terrorist attempts to destroy its heritage.”
